A global shipping operator in the Dry Bulk sector and provider of sea transportation services is looking for an experienced Operations Manager in Athens. You will report to the General Manager and will oversee the fleet’s performance based on flag, statutory and Company’s requirements and guidelines, as well as the speed, consumption, and weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Operator or 5 years’ experience as an Operations Manager at a shipping company. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the fleet’s performance based on flag, statutory and Company’s requirements and guidelines, as well as the speed, consumption and weather conditions.

Closely communicate with the Operators to oversee their voyage instructions, ship’s cargo holds condition and preparation.

Monitor the day-to-day performance and financial expenditure of vessels in the fleet.

Supervise and, when required, guide the Operators on master’s Voyage instructions, port requirements, local regulations, cargo requirements and precautions, ship’s charter party description and applicable clauses.

Supervise the communication between the Operators and the Insurance Department to handle claims, hazardous situations, accidents and the P&I’s involvement.

Confirm that all safety standards and procedures are maintained in all operational processes and assure the environmental-friendly management of the fleet.

Ensure that the Company’s productivity objectives and the departmental standards are met.

Communicate with charter parties, when required.

Close liaison with Commercial Dept for Pre-Fixture requirement
