An international Insurance company (non-life) is searching for an experienced Operations Officer to join their team in Malta. This is a varied role which covers claims, complaints, underwriting oversight and other duties.  The ideal candidate will have CII certification and 3 years’ experience within insurance. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Claims Oversight
  • Conduct regular sampling and validation of claims managed by MGAs/Insurance
Intermediaries.
  • Verify and approve claims which are outside the delegated authority of MGA/Insurance Intermediaries.
  • Performance of internal controls in line with Company’s framework.
Complaints Management
  • Maintain and update the Complaints Register in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Acknowledge, investigate, and respond to complaints within prescribed timelines.
Underwriting Oversight
  • Review of underwriting files and compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in monitoring product governance and distribution activities.
General Duties
  • Participation in meetings with MGAs/Insurance Intermediaries.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to senior management.
  • Support in preparing internal operations reports and assist with regulatory submissions.
  • Support internal and external audits, including audits on MGAs/Insurance Intermediaries and thematic reviews.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • CII Certification (Cert CII) or equivalent .
  • A Minimum of three (3) years of experience in insurance operations inclusive of claims and complaints handling.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce clear reports.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in both reading, speaking and understanding of Maltese and English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
