GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with a global brand, who currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer in Cyprus to manage and coordinate payroll operations for both local and international entities. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and has strong knowledge of Cyprus payroll, tax, and social insurance regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with external payroll providers and internal departments to ensure accurate, timely, and fully compliant payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for employees across Cyprus and international offices
  • Liaise and maintain strong relationships with external payroll providers
  • Collect and verify payroll data from HR, including salaries, new hires, terminations, bonuses, unpaid leave, and overtime
  • Calculate statutory deductions including PAYE tax, Social Insurance contributions, GESY, and other applicable deductions
  • Prepare payslips and salary payment files
  • Coordinate with the Finance department for salary disbursements and payroll-related journal entries
  • Ensure full compliance with Cyprus labour law, tax regulations, and social insurance requirements, as well as international payroll regulations where applicable
  • Submit payroll-related filings to relevant authorities
  • Prepare payroll reports, summaries, cost allocations, and management reports
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and budget reporting processes
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, approvals, and system updates
  • Track annual leave, unpaid leave, and other absences impacting payroll
  • Handle payroll queries professionally and confidentially
  • Prepare employment-related documentation such as salary certificates and income statements
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in Payroll in Cyprus or a similar role
  • Experience within the Forex industry in Cyprus will be considered an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Cyprus payroll legislation, tax regulations, labour law, and Social Insurance contributions
  • Experience managing payroll for multiple entities and international jurisdictions
  • Excellent command of English and Greek (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reconciliation skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across HR and Finance teams
  • Previous experience supporting international payroll operations will be considered an asset
