An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Manager to join a well-established Investment & Trading firm in Malta. The company trades on the Malta stock exchange but also in foreign securities and are looking for a Portfolio Manager to manage selected discretionary portfolio mandates with a specific focus on institutional and/or high-net-worth portfolios. The perfect candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in managing portfolios (ideally PQd by the MFSA). Experience in research analysis and/or similar positions may also be considered. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage selected discretionary portfolio mandates with a specific focus on institutional and/or high-net-worth portfolios
  • Take direct responsibility of a selected number of assigned clients
  • Assist in attracting new discretionary portfolio mandates
  • Deliver presentations and attending meetings with clients
  • Member of the in-house Investment Committee
  • Follow specific international equities and sectors and prepare short reports including an investment basis for a potential investment consideration
  • Prepare model portfolios for discretionary mandates
  • Assist in the compilation and review of local research reports and of Financial
  •  Analysis Summary reports as per the MFSA’s Listing Policies
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Possess a finance-related qualification such as a University degree, CFA, CEFA, IMC
  • or similar qualifications in portfolio management
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience in managing portfolios. Experience in research analysis and/or similar positions may also be considered
  • Preferably be already approved by the MFSA to act as Portfolio Manager
  • Have a strong interest and sound understanding of both the local and international financial markets
  • Have a proven ability to analyse company reports and news
  • Be very fluent in the English language (written and spoken)
  • Possess experience in managing Microsoft Excel at advanced level
  • Must be a dynamic, organised, and self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritise daily workload while working accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Must be capable of taking full responsibility for duties assigned to him/her, working on own initiative, and meet set timeframes and deadlines
