An established island-wide public utility company is working with GRS Recruitment to recruit a Process Chemist to join their team in Limassol to keep and maintain Cyprus’s vital water supply. For this role GRS are looking for who will carry out crucial laboratory analysis at the plant and prepare statutory reporting to senior management. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Take over the existing fully functioning Laboratory with all its equipment, manuals and operational equipment.

Be able to carry out the required contractual laboratory tests and procedures for the Desalination Plant Laboratory.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe laboratory

Knowledgeable of all safe chemical analysis procedures and equipment in the lab established for monitoring the quality of water at designated areas of the plant.

Maintain all laboratory equipment in good working order. Calibration of all Laboratory and plant water quality instruments.

Supervise and / or confirm laboratory analysis done during shift work and outside normal working hours. Provide daily reports and make recommendations

Produce Process data sheets and reports as required by the management.

Carry out designated process monitoring tasks in a professional and diligent manner

Report to the management immediately any findings of the laboratory analyses

Be in continuous communication with the shift operators and maintenance staff in order to be able to suggest necessary action needed to avoid affecting the plant performance

Learn the basics and operate the Plant via the PLC system

Be permanent member of the safety committee

Prepare the monthly sheets for product water chemistry, water quantity and other monthly reports, for the approval of the plant manager, to be submitted to the client at the end of each month.

Prepare reports to be submitted to the Water Development Department

Order Chemicals for the Plant and Laboratory

Check the quality of any chemicals arriving to the plant

Collect data and information as required for the Department of Environment and prepare the relevant laboratory analyses and reports
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
-
Available to attend plant emergencies or critical and urgent cases
-
Fluency in English
-
Good Time management skills

Able to meet tight deadlines
