Our client, a leading international technology and retail group, is seeking a QA Tester to join its Digital & Technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented QA professional to play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Group's web and mobile applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing functional, regression and integration testing, performing exploratory and cross-device testing, identifying and documenting defects, and supporting the team's test automation initiatives. You will work closely with developers, QA specialists and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software is delivered to customers, including during major product launches and peak trading periods.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, document and execute test cases across web and mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration and UI testing against agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct exploratory testing to identify issues that may not be covered by scripted test cases.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing.
- Test native iOS and Android applications across supported devices and operating-system versions.
- Validate API behaviour, integrations and data flows between internal services and enterprise systems.
- Test integrations involving platforms such as ERP, OMS, WMS and CRM systems.
- Identify, document and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce issues, clarify requirements and verify fixes.
- Maintain accurate defect and testing information within the team's workflow tools.
- Contribute to automated functional and regression test suites.
- Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in release testing and provide QA input into release readiness.
- Support testing during high-volume trading periods and major product launches.
- Follow established QA, security and test-data handling standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvements within the QA process.
- Continue developing technical testing and automation skills through training and practical experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in software testing or QA,
- Practical experience with functional and regression testing.
- Experience writing clear and structured test cases.
- Ability to identify, document and reproduce software defects effectively.
- Good understanding of software development and QA processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with developers and other technical stakeholders.
- A willingness to develop skills in test automation and API testing.
- Advantageous Experience
- The following would be highly beneficial:
- ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent.
- Experience in retail, e-commerce or consumer-facing applications.
- Experience testing native iOS and Android applications.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Exposure to API testing.
- Experience with CI/CD environments.
- Experience testing integrations between multiple business systems.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
