The ideal candidate will assist the Quality Management and Operational Excellence Team in driving continuous improvement of quality management system and of its system of processes, with the aim of providing a service that consistently meets customer, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBTLIES
- Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality management system
- Act as the main point of reference with all directorates across the Authority in relation to quality-related matters
- Review and lead the validating of quality management procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure they are effective and up-to-date
- Document and maintain quality management procedures within the Authority
- Maintain a register of controlled documents and ensure that such documents are regularly re-evaluated, and updated as necessary
- Contribute to the planning of regular quality audits and promote a systematic process for handling audit findings and recommendations
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring to officials within the Authority on quality-related matters
- Oversee quality control efforts to help ensure that the Authority’s outputs are of good quality
- Assist in software testing of the Authority’s IT systems
- Issue and update the Authority’s standard generic templates
- Identify and recommend the introduction of new processes and/or the revision of current processes to ensure constantly in a position to effectively and efficiently fulfil its duties
- Gain a good understanding of the Authority’s processes in general, particularly for those processes included within the scope of Operational Excellence exercises
- Drive forward Operational Excellence process improvement exercises
- Discuss with all internal stakeholders and seek to obtain information on problems experienced with processes, and any suggestions on how such problems could be addressed
- Analyse all information gathered and conduct Cause-Effect analyses and Root-Cause analyses
- Formulate recommended solutions aimed at solving the identified root causes
- Seek alignment between all stakeholders involved, on recommended solutions
- Document a revised suggested process that incorporates all recommended solutions in an efficient and effective way
- Updating job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management, by reading professional publications, by maintaining personal networks and by participating in educational opportunities
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- In possession of a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or sciences (MQF level 6 or equivalent)
- Experience in quality management and/or process improvement
- Good understanding of Quality Management principles and methodologies
- Good understanding of Continuous Improvement principles, methodologies and tools
- Good understanding of Document Control procedures and some related experience
- Experience in writing and reviewing policies and procedures
- Experience in the administration of electronic Document Management Systems
- Experience in carrying out Root Cause analyses and Cause-Effect analyses
- Experience in facilitating cross-departmental discussions aimed at improving processes
- Good organisational understanding and analytical skills
- Able to speak and write clearly and concisely in English
