An established online bank with over 30 years of experience in providing banking services and right solution for your business, is seeking to employ a Risk Manager in Malta. The selected candidate will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance and will be responsible for assessing, responding to and monitoring the Bank’s exposure to risk. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning, designing and implementing risk management processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks, including maintaining a rolling risk register

Supporting the development and strengthening of the Bank’s internal control systems and overarching risk management framework

Preparation of the regulatory suite of documents, including the ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan, and relevant policies and procedures

Preparation of the financial risk management section found in the annual report
-
Ownership of the Risk Monitoring Committee, including development and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs)

Attending and presenting reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and other relevant committees on request

Reviewing new Bank products available to the public
-
Attending various off-site information seminars to keep abreast with industry relevant developments and emerging risks, and ensuring dissemination of relevant knowledge across the Bank

Protecting the independence of the second line of defence and fostering a healthy risk-aware culture across the Bank

IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) exercise

Performing 2nd line checks on the 1st line of defence

Writing of procedures and policies

Participation and monitoring of Data Protection duties; and Participating in ad hoc projects and internal review exercises
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Graduate education in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business, Maths and Statistics, or equivalent
-
A solid understanding of the Banking Industry

Experience in Quantitative Risk Management
-
A minimum of 3 years' experience working in the local Banking Industry

Proficiency in Microsoft particularly in MS Word and Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication
-
A strong sense of integrity, ethics and independence, with the courage to speak out
