A leading Payment Service Provider is working with GRS to recruit an experienced Risk Manager / Head of Risk to build and create their Risk function in Malta. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable brand in a senior role and provide guidance to the Board in mitigating possible risks the company may face. The role is multi-faceted and will cover both operational and regulatory risk. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a Risk role within a Payment Service Provider or Bank and, have been approved by the MFSA for Risk. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Asses the operational processes in place and suggest recommended improvements to mitigate risk exposure
  • Gain and maintain an aggregated view of the risk profile of the Company, both at legal entity level and across the Group
  • Create policies and procedures relating to Risk
  • Develop and maintain the Company’s Risk framework
  • Compile and maintain the Risk Management function
  • Build & maintain the Risk register
  • Train other staff members on Risk
  • Conduct regular stress testing scenario analysis
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the Company’s risk status
  • Document changes in the Company’s RMS and report to the Board, ensuring the framework is maintained and improved
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Risk Management
  • 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the Payments sector
  • Approved by the MFSA for Risk
  • Working knowledge of risk management regulatory requirements, best practice and MFSA regulations
  • Sufficient knowledge, skills and experience in relation to risk management techniques and procedures, and markets and products in both Payments and Banking
  • Able to analyze and understand trends and recognize new or emerging risks and risk increases arising from changing circumstances and conditions
