On behalf of our client, a well-established and well-known portfolio management company, GRS are seeking a Risk Officer to join their team in Nicosia. The Risk Officer will be reporting to the Head of Risk and must have three to five years of prior experience in a relevant field and proven knowledge of rules, laws and regulations of the Central Bank of Cyprus related to credit institutions and/or credit acquiring companies. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and management of all risks to which the Company is exposed and informs the Head of Risk accordingly
  • Participates in the development and update where necessary of risk policies, procedures, and reports
  • Participates in the development of internal procedures for assessing, monitoring and reporting of the Company’s risk profile
  • Analyses data to evaluate current or potential risks or outcomes of business decisions
  • Assists in the review and evaluation of the Company’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Framework
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of the regular and ad-hoc risk reports to the Executive Management and the Risk Committee
  • Monitors the risk profile of the Company and assess it against the Company’s strategic objectives and risk appetite
  • Monitors and analyses macro-economic developments and market trends for risk related matters and identify potential new or emerging risks, as well as cases of increased risks arising from changing circumstances and conditions
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Risk, Mathematics or Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting or any other relevant background
  • Three to five years of prior experience in the relevant field
  • Proven knowledge and experience with rules, laws and regulations of the Central Bank of Cyprus related to credit institutions and/or credit acquiring companies
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with the ability to effectively interpret and aggregate large amounts of data and summarize it to key points
  • Knowledge and prior experience in risk analysis and risk metrics
  • Strategic and business mindset
  • Ability for critical thinking is needed
  • Strong computer literacy, with excellent MS Office
  • Strong commercial awareness, ability to work well under pressure and efficiently manage time and priorities
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and writing
  • Fluency in both Greek and English, written and spoken
