A leading Pensions services company is looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Officer to join their finance team in Malta. The ideal candidate will be in the possession or studying for the ACCA qualification with 3 years’ experience in a similar role and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Involved in the preparation of monthly management accounts for various jurisdictions
  • The preparation and posting of various schedules, journals, revenue workings such as deferred
  • Income, analysis and comparison of figures to budgets with the ability to explain any variances to budgets.
  • Involved in the preparation of the trust accounting and various regulatory reporting such as MFSA and FCA reporting, client tax calculations including monthly submissions and other client
  • Reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the accounts receivable. This involves liaising with investment
  • Platforms and regularly reporting the accounts receivable position to management.
  • Provide support during the company’s audits
  • Preparing daily client bank reconciliations
  • Processing electronic transfers and payments in relation to clients
  • maintain the company’s accounting records and financial files
  • liaising with other departments and responding to ad-hoc queries
  • Other ad hoc duties as required such as analysing new legislations to determine the applicability or otherwise to the Company.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Partly or fully qualified (ACCA qualification, B. Accountancy (Hons) or equivalent
  • At least 3 years in an audit or accounting environment, ideally in Financial Services.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally at all levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel
  • Good team player, right attitude to work and be willing to learn and progress in their role
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines
