DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will be responsible for assistance corporate clients with tax registration process.

Reviewing corporate tax returns of local and international tax clients.

Reviewing tax refund claim forms for international clients.

Assisting with the assessment of reserves and preparation of dividend warrants.

Providing technical support on tax matters, including corporate restructuring, share transfer, international tax implications.

Assisting in the drafting of tax advisory opinions and tax rulings.

Mentor and support junior tax staff — guiding them technically, reviewing their work, and helping them grow.

Suggest and contribute to improvements to internal procedures, documentation, workflows, and client service processes.

Cooperate with other departments (corporate, compliance, accounting) where tax intersects.

Keeping up to date with direct tax developments.

The selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of Direct Tax & Corporate Services.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.

Knowledge of the CFR tax system/excel and the Maltese Income Tax System
-
Be in possession of a university degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
-
Be a good team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Willingness to learn, proactive, flexible and committed.

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Proficient in English both written and spoken (knowledge of Maltese and Italian would be considered an asset)

Knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
