A global Medical Consultancy company is looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join their team in Malta. In this role you will supervise the finance officers in their respective duties and assist with any ad hoc duties. The ideal candidate will have the relevant knowledge and experience to assist the accountants with the preparation of financial reporting and other finance-related duties. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processing financial information up to a trial balance stage, as well as performing monthly reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and assisting with forecasts and other financial reports
  • Supervision of the finance officers and assuring that their tasks are accurately performed
  • Assist in the month-end closing process and the preparation of financial reports as required by management
  • Monitoring the Company’s invoicing process, including assuring correct data is used by finance officers when issuing invoices
  • Monitoring the Company’s Payments process, including performing pay-runs, assuring finance officer has followed Company procedures regarding receipt of invoice, checking, authorisation and credit terms
  • Assisting in the revenue and cost control function
  • Assisting with the day to day operations
  • Liaising with the external auditors where necessary and providing the necessary support
  • Any other responsibilities, commensurate with the employee’s experience and position, that the Accountant deems suitable from time to time.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • A good knowledge of Excel and accounting packages, preferably Shireburn accounting.
  • Preferably possess an Advanced level standard in accounts or higher.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A team player, have a pleasant personality and can demonstrate a 'can do' attitude when faced with deadlines and other challenging situations.
  • Able to work on own initiative, be flexible and multitask. Must be organised, accurate and methodical.
  • Have an affinity for numbers and calculations.
  • Able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
