On behalf of our client, a financial services organisation, GRS are recruiting a Senior Manager – People and Corporate Services who will report to the Director. The selected candidate will be driven, ambitious and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This role calls for someone who will be involved in collaborating with the managers within the section to ensure cohesive and efficient operations across the board. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete oversight of the operations and workstreams of the department, improve the department’s efficiency and take decisions unilaterally when required
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for all areas of responsibility, aligning with the department's overall objectives and ensuring operational excellence
  • Oversee the managers of Payroll and Finance, Human Resources, Logistics, Administration & Procurement, and Communications & PR, ensuring they are leading their teams effectively, meeting their targets, and contributing to the company's strategic goals
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure robust financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting that supports the company’s objectives
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager to enhance talent acquisition, employee development, retention strategies, and ensure a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Oversee the Logistics, Administration & Procurement functions to ensure seamless operations, optimal office management and maintenance, and effective support systems for all sections
  • Guide the Communications and PR Manager in developing and executing strategies that enhance the company's public image, internal communication, and stakeholder engagement
  • Carry out periodic meetings with the respective department managers and coordinate the workflow, resources and planning in a way to maximize the department’s efficiency
  • Monitor, follow up and review the work of the different teams within the department to identify areas which need improvement, and to ensure that the quality of the work performed is satisfactory
  • Overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of the section’s policies, procedures and measures
  • Plan the operations and goals of the section in a way that these meet the section’s priorities, targets and deliverables
  • Carry out performance appraisals and one-to-one meetings as may be required from time to time
  • Provide department managers within the section with enough guidance, support, leadership, and direction necessary to ensure that they are able to reach their targets 
  • Fulfil any other duties delegated by the Director, and management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • University degree or an equivalent qualification at MQF Level 6 or higher in Business Administration / Procurement / Management / Accounts / Finance / Public Policy / Economics / Human Resources or another subject
  • A minimum of seven (7) years related work experience, including three (3) years in a managerial role
  • Ability to show a track record of managerial competence, efficiency and diligence in a relevant position
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and office automation tools
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills and a proven track record of technical competence, efficiency, leadership, ethical responsibility, and diligence
  • Applicants must be particularly organised, meticulous & demonstrate outstanding multi-tasking abilities
