DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping studies, or seagoing experience as an officer or appropriate office experience in ships operations;

Excellent command of the English language;

General knowledge of the shipping industry;

Good Controlling and Communication skills and initiative;

Ability to work within a team.

2-3 years’ experience in Vessel Operations of Oil/ Chemical Tankers

Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, high pressure environment
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Keep the Operations Manager and Senior Ship Operator informed about any significant cases and incidents related to the fleet of vessels under their charge.
-
Monitor Charter Party requirements including stowage planning and consult with the Senior Ship Operator and Operations Manager regarding any abnormalities.

Inform vessels about fixtures, ensure that voyage orders are communicated to the Masters, and confirm this with the respective Chartering office if required.

Monitor freight, hire, and re-billables for vessels, and prepare relevant invoices and payments.

Ensure vessels only carry cargoes they are certified to transport.

Monitor tank and hold cleaning, providing special instructions in consultation with the Marine department, Technical department, and Senior Ship Operator when necessary.

Monitor trading areas and arrange for extra insurance cover through the Insurance & Claims Department when needed (IWL, War zones, USA trading, Canada trading, etc.).

Liaise with the Insurance & Claims Department regarding cargo claims, cargo disputes, Charter Party disputes, and Freight Demurrage Defenses (FDD) matters.

Monitor vessels’ bunker status.

Authorize the release of cargo if the original Bill of Lading cannot be presented to the Master at the discharge port.

Assist Senior Ship Operators and Ship Operators as needed, and act as a backup Operator.

Prepare demurrage, shifting, and other claims calculations for spot vessels in accordance with relevant Charter Parties.

Keep Commercial Offices and Time Charterers updated on vessels’ vetting status.

Update Q88 forms, handle questionnaires, certificates, LOI’s and all relevant supporting docs
-
Keep the Senior Ship Operator and Operations Manager informed of any significant cases related to vessel speed and consumption performance.
