A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an international maritime company as a Technical Superintendent to join their transportation department in Malta. You will manage 4 x deep sea tugs and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day technical and operational related issues, monitoring of the vessels condition and ships staff compliance with management policies and safety. The perfect candidate will be fully qualified and have necessary experience on tugs to handle this position. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing tugs daily operations and performances (vessel speed and fuel oil consumption, main & diesel engines parameters)

Managing all technical matters/failures and ensure that safety is being given the highest priority

Ensuring all procedures comply with Flag State, Classification Society et Marine Insurances planning/supervising the required surveys

Monitoring and evaluating the performance of engine crew and reporting accordingly to the Crew Manager

Preparation of docking specifications, docking budgets, control docking and repair cost effectively, final preparation of the docking cost summary and report

Processing all spare parts et store requisitions and monitoring the efficient and timely supply of all equipment required for the proper maintenance and safe operation of the vessels (AMOS software)

Purchase order and Invoice approval (ARGO software)

The effective implementation of preventive maintenance of hull, deck, machineries and all equipment/instruments as described in the PMS and set by the Class/Flag State requirements (AMOS Software)

Tugs on board inspection: visit vessel regularly, issue condition assessment, arrange maintenance and repair plan, execute internal and external audit (ISM, ISPS & MLC)

Reporting to the Technical Manger
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Three (3 or plus) years experience in a Shipping Management as Technical Superintendent (Engine Department)

Degree in marine engineering or equivalent time / experience at sea as engine officers (plus)

Background in the offshore/anchor handling tugs activities

Fully qualified

Be based in Malta

Be willing to travel
