GRS Recruitment are delighted to partner with a leading Telecommunications company based in Nicosia, seeking a talented Telecom Platform Engineer to join their dynamic team. We are looking for a hands-on and motivated embedded developer to join our team. You will be working on the development of firmware and low-level software for embedded platforms, ranging from bare-metal microcontrollers (e.g., STM32) to embedded Linux systems running on ARM-based SoCs. Your role will involve close interaction with hardware teams and participation in the full software lifecycle — from design to deployment. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for real-time systems (bare-metal and/or embedded Linux).
  • Interface with hardware components such as sensors, actuators, communication peripherals (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, GPIO, etc.).
  • Implement board bring-up, bootloaders, device drivers, and low-level libraries.
  • Analyze hardware datasheets and schematics to support software integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, and system engineering.
  • Participate in system-level debugging and performance tuning.
  • Document software design and provide support during system integration and testing.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–4 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
  • Proficiency in C (and optionally C++) for embedded systems.
  • Experience with at least one of the following:
  • Bare-metal development (e.g., STM32, NXP, etc.)
  • Embedded Linux development (e.g., Buildroot, Yocto, or Debian-based)
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS) is a plus.
  • Experience working with debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Understanding of low-level hardware concepts such as interrupts, timers, memory-mapped I/O.
  • Comfortable reading hardware schematics and datasheets.
  • Ability to troubeshoot and debug issues at the hardware/software interface.
