GRS Recruitment are working with a well-established marine insurance broking firm in Limassol who are seeking to recruit an Underwriting Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to begin or further develop a career within marine insurance and underwriting support. The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical support to the underwriting and broking function, ensuring the smooth processing of documentation, accurate data management, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and a willingness to develop expertise in marine insurance.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of insurance documentation, including slips, policies, endorsements, and certificates.
  • Collect and verify client and vessel information required for underwriting purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems and databases.
  • Liaise with brokers, insurers, and clients to obtain required information and resolve outstanding queries.
  • Support the renewal process by monitoring diaries and preparing related documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of underwriting files and correspondence.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the underwriting team as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in insurance, marine shipping, or a broking support role is considered an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numerical and technical information.
  • Excellent organisational and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop knowledge of marine insurance and underwriting processes.
  • Professional and proactive approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
