GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading organisation operating within the construction sector, headquartered in Limassol. Our client is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join their established finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with at least 3 years’ experience, including supervisory exposure, to take the next step in their career within a structured and growing organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, maintaining accurate financial records and supervising junior members of the accounting team.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries, accruals and prepayments.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and intercompany balances.
  • Ensure the timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for management accounts and statutory reporting.
  • Review and approve routine accounting transactions and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide accurate schedules, supporting documentation and explanations as required.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures across accounting operations.
  • Monitor and report on cash flow and short-term working capital movements.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with tax and VAT compliance activities and prepare supporting schedules for relevant filings.
  • Provide supervision, training and performance feedback to junior members of the accounting team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of accounting policy and procedural updates.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior finance management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, or part-qualified status.
  • Minimum 3 years’ practical accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Previous experience within the construction sector is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.
  • Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards and relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting external audits and coordinating audit requests.
  • Good understanding of tax and VAT compliance requirements.
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet analysis skills, with the ability to review and interpret financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach and develop junior accounting team members.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
COMPANY BENEFITS
  • €28,000 - €32,000 Gross Per Annum
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability
  • 21 days annual leave.
  • Employer participation in the Holiday Fund, with annual leave paid through the Social Insurance Department.
  • Structured working hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30, with one day per week 08:30–17:30.
