A top-tier legal firm with a solid reputation is searching for a Banking & Finance Junior Lawyer to join their Banking & Finance team in Malta. You will assist senior associates and partners in providing legal advice and support on banking and finance matters. The ideal candidate will have a recognised degree in Law and ideally be warranted to act as a lawyer in Malta, however the firm will also consider candidates from the EU with a solid background in this area of law. The role requires a profile with a minimum of a years’ post qualified experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist senior associates and partners in providing legal advice and support on banking and finance matters

Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memos, and briefs

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, loan agreements, and securities

Support in due diligence processes and regulatory compliance matters

Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
-
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide accurate and effective legal work

Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
CANDIDATE PROFILE

A law degree from a reputable EU university
-
Admission to practice law in Malta
-
1 to 2 years of experience in banking and finance law, preferably within a law firm or financial institution

Strong understanding of Maltese and EU banking and finance regulations
-
Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
-
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Maltese
-
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
