A top-tier legal firm with a solid reputation is searching for a Banking & Finance Junior Lawyer to join their Banking & Finance team in Malta. You will assist senior associates and partners in providing legal advice and support on banking and finance matters. The ideal candidate will have a recognised degree in Law and ideally be warranted to act as a lawyer in Malta, however the firm will also consider candidates from the EU with a solid background in this area of law. The role requires a profile with a minimum of a years’ post qualified experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist senior associates and partners in providing legal advice and support on banking and finance matters
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memos, and briefs
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, loan agreements, and securities
  • Support in due diligence processes and regulatory compliance matters
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide accurate and effective legal work
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A law degree from a reputable EU university
  • Admission to practice law in Malta
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in banking and finance law, preferably within a law firm or financial institution
  • Strong understanding of Maltese and EU banking and finance regulations
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Maltese
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
