GRS Recruitment are working with a well-established marine insurance broking firm in Limassol who are seeking to recruit a Claims Executive to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop a career within marine insurance and claims handling. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned insurance claims from notification through to settlement, liaising with clients and key stakeholders including underwriters, surveyors, lawyers, and correspondents. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to delivering a high standard of client service within a fast-paced and professional environment.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle assigned insurance claims according to company procedures, offer advice on claims-related issues and offer support on loss prevention matters.
  • Liaise closely with Clients, Underwriters, Surveyors, Local Correspondents, Average Adjusters, and Lawyers during the handling of claims.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with existing Clients that the claims team oversees.
  • Provide cover in the absence of the Claims Manager.
  • Ensure all electronic correspondence and documentation related to claims are filed promptly and accurately, maintaining updated records in line with established practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of company procedures and systems.
  • Manage business relationships with Clients and deliver claims handling services of the highest standard.
  • Participate in relevant training to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities related to the Claims Department, as reasonably instructed.
  • Be available to provide support to Clients outside of office hours on a rota basis.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • University degree, preferably in a Shipping-related field.
  • Experience in P&I/FDD/H&M Claims or the Shipping industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Client-facing experience is preferred.
