A start-up company operating in the renewable energy sector is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Commercial Manager for their Nicosia based offices. The successful candidate will build and maintain the company’s commercial pipeline and market position in Cyprus by developing the generation and supply business. Understanding the energy sector (Conventional and Renewables).

Understanding the electricity infrastructure and technologies.

Responsible for the generation of leads industry including PPAs , PDAs, and new products.

Managing high-potential clients and projects.
-
Attending conferences to network and gain market insight.
-
Overseeing the government relations process from start to finish for every project.
-
Attending government high-level meetings related to the Energy sector
-
Sales process management and delivery through mapping out and developing a BD plan.

Develop a detailed action plan according to data collected through the sector.
-
Liaising with the finance, legal and technical teams to negotiate and close deals with prospective clients.

Overseeing the production of reports (such as financial statements) and presentations to illustrate findings to the Leadership team.

Contacting high-potential clients to set up meetings and offer tailored energy solutions.

Responsible for overseeing the legal and finance departments during their client acquisition evaluation.

Overseeing the review of Greek and English commercial contracts with clients and team.
-
Responsible for delivering all client agreements, supporting documents, and bank requirements.

Work with HR to recruit, interview, select, and hire for required roles within the team.

Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members.

Create a workplace culture that fits with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Representing the interests of the department to the management team.

Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition and rewards with the assistance of HR.

Assisting with company marketing and management of social media pages so it is aligned with the commercial goals.

Understanding Cypriot energy policy/laws and how they might affect the business.

Priority matrix on which clients and projects to pursue and develop.
-
Signing off on price offers sent to potential clients (aligned with the company’s investment criteria and requirements).

BSc/BA in any relevant discipline (preference over Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business). MBA will be considered an advantage.

10 years of previous working experience in a similar role, preferably within the Engineering sector.
