A US owned Electronic Money Institute regulated by the CBC is working in partnership with GRS to recruit a Compliance and AML Officer to join their Larnaca office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years previous experience in a similar role, with fluency in English. This company is a well-established premier boutique trade finance services firm, providing exceptional support to their global clientele. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow up on circulars and directives issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities as required by policies and procedures regarding the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
  • Developing, updating, and revising the appropriate policies, rules, and procedures, ensuring that the Company meets its Regulatory requirements.
  • To monitor and regularly assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing measures, policies and procedures and to report any deficiencies in the company’s compliance with obligations.
  • To establish and ensure effective communication with Regulators, Auditors, and other counterparties.
  • To identify and report to the Management compliance risks related to the business practices, products, and services.
  • To monitor local, EU and international regulatory framework, its developments, and best practices. Report to the Management possible opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare compliance reports.
  • Work on regulatory requests and inspections, also be available for internal and to external audits.
  • To be responsible for client onboarding, drafting reports of new clients to the Management Board for the final onboarding decision.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Educated to degree level or the equivalent of Law, Banking, Finance, or experienced in one of these fields or a related field.
  • Recent practical experience, in a PI or EMI institution
  • Experience in the role of Compliance in the regulated financial industry, ideally by the CBC.
  • Fully fluent in English.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint.)
  • Knowledge of the “WiseBos” regulatory suite of compliance applications is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software especially Excel.
  • Obtained the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Certification.
