MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization operates in accordance with all relevant financial and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations in the UAE, specifically under the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).

Advise the business on potential compliance and regulatory issues, particularly regarding significant changes. Identify, create awareness of, and plan appropriate responses to regulatory, compliance, and risk management issues, including those related to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) role.

Maintain a pragmatic and commercial approach to business while ensuring adherence to personal and corporate regulatory and legal obligations.

Advise on customer and supplier onboarding in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Ensure accurate and complete records of all files and documents related to Financial Intelligence Units (FIU) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).

Apply and monitor compliance requirements through a structured compliance monitoring program, ensuring obligations are met.

Oversee the day-to-day implementation of local Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) requirements, providing advice and guidance as needed.

Promptly report suspicious transactions and activities, including SARs, in accordance with federal AML legislation.

Monitor and interpret AML-related legal and regulatory developments, advising senior management accordingly, and ensuring necessary standards are reflected in policies, processes, and controls.
Ensure the maintenance of relevant AML/CTF procedures and processes, providing employee training as required.

Act as the primary contact within the business for UAE authorities, particularly the SCA, regarding AML reporting, compliance, and related issues. Respond promptly to requests for information from the SCA or other relevant authorities.

Offer timely and accurate advice on MLRO matters to the board and employees.

Oversee communications with customers and review marketing materials to ensure compliance.

Draft and implement an annual compliance plan that addresses key objectives for mitigating compliance risks.

Prepare quarterly compliance reports for the board of directors and submit semi-annual reports to relevant authorities on the effectiveness of internal controls, in line with SCA-approved procedures.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Educated to Bachelor’s degree level in Finance/Economics /Business Administration, or a related field.

Extensive experience in capital markets with licensed entities.

License of passing CISI (SCA) exams (Required)
