A growing Group of Companies with offices globally and in Cyprus is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance. The successful candidate. This key role entails developing and implementing frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure strong governance, risk management, and compliance. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in governance, risk management, compliance, and regulatory environments. They will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and risk awareness throughout the Group.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement the GRC function from the ground up, including the creation of frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Define the strategic direction and objectives for the GRC team in alignment with the company’s overall strategy.
  • Design and implement governance frameworks to ensure effective oversight, decision-making, and accountability.
  • Advise senior management and the board on governance best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies for various business units and projects.
  • Establish risk reporting mechanisms to provide timely and accurate risk information to senior management and the board.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments and oversee external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing GRC team, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and proactive culture within the GRC team and across the organization.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all GRC-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of governance, risk and compliance management across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness through regular communication and education initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on governance, risk and compliance activities to senior management and the board.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all GRC activities, decisions, and findings.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in governance, risk and compliance management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing GRC frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
