On behalf of our client, a reputable insurance company based in Malta, GRS Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT System Analyst to join their team. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand the business problem/opportunity, research and gather the information required to identify the best technology solution
  • Analyse existing systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities to support business goals
  • Participate in the preparation of requests for quotes for new technology solutions, meet potential suppliers, evaluate suppliers’ proposals and select the best offers
  • Understand corporate technology solutions and assess the feasibility and application for use within the local eco-system
  • Support the product manager to estimate the cost of IT solutions and projects, and plan the effort required
  • Participate in the system architecture design and integration of systems following corporate guidelines and best practices
  • Be able to understand and model business processes
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define business and system requirements, duly documenting the business and technical requirements
  • Prepare the necessary documentation required for security vulnerability tests and coordinate with the security team and the relevant supplier/s to ensure any security vulnerabilities are resolved and duly certified
  • Be able to define and validate prototypes featuring IT system changes and new requirements as needed
  • Liaise with suppliers’ development teams during development phase
  • Support the product manager to identify the testers required during the UAT phase
  • Plan what needs to be tested and how, and duly prepare the test plans, define test cases and scripts; and plan any batch processes required
  • Coordinate and execute testing initiatives with the rest of the team to evaluate any anomalies; track the resolution of anomalies and execute further testing until resolution
  • Support the product manager to plan the go live for technology solutions and actively participate in the sanity testing after solution go lives
  • Prepare and deliver training on technology solutions to end-users
  • Prepare the necessary documentation and deliver transfer knowledge sessions to other teams who will take the responsibility of post-go live support.
  • Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or related field
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a Business related field is considered an asset
  • Project Management Certification: Prince 2, PMP and/or Agile (Scrum Master) is considered an asset
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is considered an asset
  • Possession of the TOGAF® 9 Certified qualification is considered a valuable asset
  • Languages: English level B2 (Written and spoken)/Spanish language is considered an asset
  • A minimum of three to five years' experience in Information Systems Analysis within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required
  • Experience in Insurance Industry would be highly desirable and considered an asset
  • Business Process Reengineering experience is considered an asset
  • A high level of technical expertise and broad knowledge of hardware, software, and programming
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL, .NET, Java and JavaScript would be an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer systems and programming.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn systems and software used by the organization.
  • Be able to travel.
