A company which provides assistance and advise to Gaming companies is searching for a Junior Lawyer to join their Enforcement & Regulatory Affairs directorates in Malta. You will be responsible for the Company’s legal affairs and representation of the firm in all legal matters, including litigation and negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Law and ideally have experience within a legal role. Knowledge of Gaming regulations is highly advantageous.       MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Heads in providing legal advice to Chairperson, Board of Governors, Chief Executive Officer and the Company in general;
  • Draft or review legal documents and conduct negotiations on behalf of the Company;
  • Take a proactive role in ensuring that the Company meets its obligations in terms of all applicable legislation, and corporate governance requirements;
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Maltese and European legislation and provide the Heads with the required support regarding the interpretation of the assigned legal documents;
  • Conduct and plan legal research on multi-disciplined aspects of law;
  • Provide miscellaneous legal advice on various contractual and governmental obligations as directed or requested by senior management or other members of management;
  • Represent the Company in any court cases as required and to assist the police force in criminal cases which are gaming related;
  • Tender advice with respect to the Company’s processes in the light of better regulation policies;
  • Represent the Company in international fora including conferences, exposition centers as well as EU gaming related meetings;
  • Keep abreast with all international and local developments conducive to the Company’s regulatory functions;
      CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • In possession of a law degree or equivalent;
  • Having previously worked or trained in other legal, policy, or diplomatic roles shall be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing Gaming in Malta shall be considered an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accountability and pro-active work attitude;
  • Team player with strong ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
