Our client is a specialist marine insurance broker with offices in London, Athens, and soon Cyprus.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marine Hull & War Broker to join their Marine division.
The main focus of the role will be the handling and placing of war risks, either under the company’s line slip facility or independently within the market. This includes annual placements and breaches for existing clients or standalone entries. In addition, the role involves supporting the Hull team across administration, renewals, and new business brokering duties.
While the role will initially be remote, candidates must reside in Cyprus.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Placement and servicing of Marine Hull & War risks.

Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing high-quality service and advice.

Prepare and maintain accurate documentation including market submissions, slips, endorsements, and Cover Notes, including the production of a monthly war BDX for risks under the line slip.

Support Hull & Machinery (H&M) renewal and new business processes by gathering underwriting information and liaising with clients and underwriters.

Respond promptly to client queries and requests, ensuring excellent service.

Ensure all data is correctly entered into company systems and documentation issued accurately and on time.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Educated to degree level (or equivalent), ideally in business, finance, law, maritime studies, or related field.

Previous experience handling War business is essential.

Internship or junior-level experience in insurance, shipping, or finance is advantageous but not essential.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Fluent in English and Greek.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data handling.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and market interactions.

Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.

Team player with the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Commercial awareness and genuine interest in shipping, marine insurance, and global trade.
