Our client is a specialist marine insurance broker with an international presence, focusing on Hull and P&I for predominantly brown water vessels, with a select portfolio of blue water risks. They also handle and place a full range of other marine insurance classes.
We are seeking a P&I Broker to join their Marine Insurance division. The successful candidate will take direct responsibility for developing and maintaining client relationships, negotiating with P&I Clubs and fixed premium insurers, and delivering tailored insurance solutions to shipowners, operators, and charterers.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced P&I professional to grow within a dynamic marine insurance team. While the role will initially be remote, candidates must reside in Cyprus as they will soon open their Limassol offices.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned clients, providing expert advice and high-quality service.
  • Place, negotiate, and renew P&I and related marine liability covers with P&I Clubs and fixed premium markets.
  • Analyse client requirements, identify exposures, and provide bespoke insurance solutions.
  • Manage policy documentation, endorsements, and contract wordings accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain strong relationships with P&I insurers and underwriters.
  • Stay up to date on industry developments, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
  • Support business development initiatives, including cross-selling opportunities within the wider marine insurance portfolio.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in P&I broking, underwriting, or a relevant marine insurance role.
  • Understanding of international shipping operations and maritime liability, particularly within the Greek market.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Law, or Maritime Studies is advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluent in English and Greek.
  • Strong understanding of P&I insurance; some exposure to marine liability is advantageous.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Greek.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
