GRS Recruitment is excited to announce an opportunity for a  Mechanical Foreman to join an esteemed engineering company located in  Malta.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service operations, allocating resources and monitoring personnel efficiency, and monitoring health and safety practices in assigned work areas and workshops. The Forman will Manage a crew of laborer's, fitters, technicians and subcontractors of various grades to perform assigned projects and/or tasks in the most effective manner in terms of productivity, customer centricity and Health & Safety as required by the Operations Manager. 
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES 
  • Report directly to the Operations Manager
  • Provide technical overview and planning for specific jobs requested by clients and assigned to by the Operations Manager
  • Operate as a hands-on team leader as per requirements of the works
  • Supervise job sites on each designated workday
  • Manage subcontractors as assigned by Operations Manager whenever jobs are being performed by subcontractors
  • Liaise  directly with clients, client’s representatives and third parties involved for the correct planning and performance of respective jobs as assigned
  • Plan works on a daily basis in terms of personnel, material, tooling, facilities, third parties and logistics. These are to be planned in advance in discussion with Operations Manager
  • Anticipate problems and issues and personally acts on same if necessary, to help ensure schedules are met and work plans are enabled.
  • Solve onsite technical problems as far as possible and within one’s capabilities
  • Assist Operations Manager in reviewing new tasks and opportunities and report back information
  • Assist Operations Manager in the estimation process with feedback on respective material and proposed timings for specific tasks
  • Prepare reports and timesheets for tasks performed
  • Responsible for all direct communication with clients and suppliers and with the Company’s Administration.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Proven experience as a Technician with a background in Engineering
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team efficiently
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with team members and management
  • Proficient in mechanical systems and engineering principles
