GRS Recruitment is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Platform Engineer with our esteemed client, a well-established private shipping company located in Limassol. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong IT background who are looking to advance their careers in a dynamic environment with a company that values growth and efficiency. The successful candidate will be a skilled and innovative platform Engineer who will join the core transformation team enabling the development of the next wave of maritime management applications. In your role you will enable the Product development teams to implement, maintain & operate applications using a Mendix low-code development platform. Your work will streamline our processes, enhance efficiency, and enable the rapid delivery of solutions.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Application Development: Support & maintain Mendix accelerators such as starter apps, design systems, module & API catalogues, collaborating with architects and the development team. Web services development skills would be an advantage.
  • Automation and Integration: Implement process automations and system integrations to optimize workflows, leveraging APIs, connectors, and RPA tools where needed.
  • Platform Management: Administer and manage the low-code platform environment, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and version control. Design & Implement Azure cloud resources within an enterprise scale landing zone architecture. Develop processes and procedures for the end-to-end service & security management of the platform.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for development teams, working with vendors to open/close tickets through diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
  • User Training: Educate and support Mendix Users by developing documentation, conducting training sessions, and assisting adoption of low-code solutions.
  • Innovation: Stay current on low-code and no-code trends, bringing new ideas and innovative solutions to enhance team capabilities and improve processes.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Attributes: Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – willing to go beyond the boundaries of the title and do what’s needed to deliver outcomes.
  • Experience: At least 1 year working with Mendix or similar Low Code Application Platform.
  • Certifications: Certifications in one of more of these technologies would be an advantage: Microsoft Azure fundamentals, Cisco network administrator, ITIL foundation certifications are desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Soft Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English. Critical (analytical) thinking and problem-solving skills. Good communication and self-start abilities. Team player and the ability to work within a multicultural environment.
  • Technical skills: Agile application development methodologies, Continuous Integration and low code programming (ideally Mendix LCAP), Scripting languages (ideally one or more of: JavaScript, TypeScript, YAML, Terraform).
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the maritime industry in areas such as planned maintenance and crew management systems would be an advantage.
