Our client in Limassol is seeking a dynamic Port Operations Superintendent to take the lead in coordinating the operational and commercial activity of assigned vessels. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary point of contact for port agents and vessel owners on all port-related matters.
  • Oversee the end-to-end operational and commercial execution of assigned itineraries.
  • Perform feasibility checks, cost analyses, budget planning, and forecasting to optimize vessel performance.
  • Monitor trading areas, deviations, and operational requirements to keep voyages on track.
  • Collaborate closely with Owners and internal stakeholders on port calls, bunkering, and voyage planning.
  • Arrange port bookings, secure berth or anchorage reservations, and manage Port Agent performance.
  • Handle PDAs/FDAs, ensure accurate prefunding, and maintain strong budget control.
  • Oversee bunker planning, fuel budgeting, and invoice processing.
  • Ensure all operations meet maritime regulations and internal standards.
  • Track operational KPIs and contribute to procedural improvements and the team’s ongoing development.
  • Experience with MXP is a significant advantage.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings, forums, and operational site visits.
  • Support the Head of Department with assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Company Management System and apply it effectively.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Previous experience in port operations, or relevant shipboard experience as a Purser or Officer.
  • Solid operational understanding of vessel movements and port processes.
  • Strong grasp of port regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical abilities paired with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Familiarity with MXP is an advantage.
