Our client, a private firm with a dedicated team is seeking a talented individual with a strong background in Import/Export/Logistics. As a Sea Freight Operations Officer you will contribute to the implementation of Department Policies and Procedures and achieve department targets and solve day to day problems and request management involvement where needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer service & Sales tasks:

Maintain good relations with Customers and agents ,seek their feedback for continuous improvement

Generate Sales Leads to promote all company's services
Reports Requested:
-
Collect data related to market rates and facilities offered by competition to be sent for the HODs and BOD.

Update regularly clients information, contact details, addresses Report.
-
Report to the direct manager any customer complaint, claim, or problem which might cause losing customer/ job.
Operations:
-
Respond customers inquiries and submit quotations within 24 hours maximum.

Liaise with third parties to move goods by sea according to customers’ requirements.

Follow up on quotation until closing of deal and report the reason for the loss of any contract/job.

Arrange bookings for freight shipments from A to Z
-
Update client on regular basis on his shipments’ status.

Use the CRM, for quotation, client’s details, contracts, and movement, in addition to filing all job-related correspondences and docs.

Meeting monthly targets set by management.

Get management approval prior to offering any credit facilities to clients.

Negotiate rates and charges with clients, agents and principals to ensure approval of concerned parties
-
Solve day to day problems and request management involvement where needed.

Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight through Sea .

Perform other related activities as requested by Direct Manager
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Transportation and Logistics

4-6 years’ experience
