A fast-growing software development company with offices in Israel and Cyprus is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to recruit a Senior Backend Developer (Python & Go) to join their Limassol based. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys designing scalable distributed systems and driving technical excellence while building cloud-native SaaS solutions for international clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in architecture, technical decision-making, and the delivery of highly scalable backend platforms across multiple industries including Financial Services, Banking, and Online Platforms.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and optimise scalable backend services using Python and Go.

Lead the design and implementation of distributed microservices and cloud-native applications.

Build and maintain high-performance REST APIs and backend platforms.

Drive technical decisions, architecture discussions, and best engineering practices across the team.

Mentor and support other developers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Ensure software quality through testing, automation, and continuous integration/deployment.

Work closely with DevOps teams to optimise cloud infrastructure and application performance.

Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches to improve scalability and maintainability.

Ensure security, reliability, observability, and operational excellence across backend services.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

University degree in Computer Science or another relevant discipline.
-
5+ years of backend software development experience.
-
Strong commercial experience with Python and Go.
-
Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable backend architecture.

Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
-
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised deployments is highly desirable.

Strong experience with Redis, Kafka, and database technologies.

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
-
Solid understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€60,000 - €80,000 Gross Per Annum

Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
