An international gaming company is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Malta on a remote basis. You will uphold the highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards and be the trusted legal advisor, providing critical support across various companies within the Group. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Law and have at least 6 years’ PQE within a reputable legal firm or gaming or iGaming industry experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the principal contact for contractual reviews, negotiations, and drafting, including Software Licenses, intra-group Service Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, Marketing and Brand licences, and other commercial agreements.

Develop and maintain standard contract templates for more common agreements to increase team productivity.

Assist other stakeholders with interpretation of primary and secondary legislation in order to provide compliance and regulatory support for wider group functions like business development, compliance, and data protection.

Advise on intellectual property protection measures and the legal implications of IP assets within wider business transactions.

Ensure that the company’s brands (including those under licence) are protected against IP violations and other forms of brand infringement (specifically including, copyright, defamation, and trademark infringements).

Liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities, ensuring our company stays abreast of regulatory updates.

Manage disputes, claims, and litigation that come up from time-to-time including suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities.

Maintain and uphold group policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory authorities and wider industry best practices.

Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance matters to foster a culture of compliance within the organisation.

Identify potential legal risks and provide strategic solutions to mitigate them.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Degree in Law (or equivalent Legal qualification).

6 years PQE from either a recognised law firm or industry experience.

Expertise in corporate structuring, M&A, and/or iGaming licensing is a plus

Excellent command of English (both written and spoken), strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Exceptional analytical skills are essential for identifying risks and proposing optimal solutions.

A clear understanding of distributed information systems.
