One of the biggest leading professional services firms in Cyprus is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire a Sustainability Consultant to join their Nicosia based offices. This position offers a dynamic and varied workload, involving multiple concurrent client engagements across a wide range of industries, market sectors, and company sizes. You will be responsible for delivering key components of these projects and will lead smaller engagements independently. Working closely with senior colleagues both locally and across the global company network, you will collaborate directly with client executives and leadership teams. As a trusted advisor, you will help drive project initiatives aligned with client goals and international best practices.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executing sustainability projects encompassing Net Zero, Sustainability Strategy, Sustainability Reporting, Corporate Governance, Social and Environmental policies and Sustainability Due Diligence.

Engaging in business development endeavors, including prospect meetings, excellent proposal drafting that show understanding of the market, Client needs, and the Firm’s offering, and project planning.

Provide expertise and specialist knowledge input where applicable, demonstrate commercial awareness and extensive legislative knowledge applicable locally and internationally.

Implementing the latest sustainability methodologies and business intelligence tools

Drafting best-class Sustainability reports based on the evolving regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Managing ESG data Governance and ESG data analytics.

Deliver ESG related training programs.

Support the implementation of the company’s Net Zero Policy as well as oversee environmental, social, and other related policies and procedures across the firm.

Effective communication with management on the progress and status of various projects will be a key requirement.

Adhering to budgets and ensuring deadlines are met
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Master’s/ bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, sustainability, environmental engineering or ESG Data analytics equivalent.

Newly qualified accountants and auditors with the required experience as per below are also a good match.

A 1–3-year experience in similar sustainability consulting roles, sustainability reporting writing, ESG data analytics and carbon footprint, ESG strategy, development, ESG targets and climate change, ESG capacity building.

Knowledge of current and evolving EU sustainability compliance frameworks

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD),(ESRS), EU Taxonomy, Corporate
-
Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) etc. as well as international voluntary standards such as GRI, ISO 26000, TCFD (climate-related disclosures), ISSB / IFRS S1 & S2 (global baseline), UN Global Compact SASB, etc is highly desirable.

Experience of implementation of sustainability standards are a bonus while experience in the ESG audits and in the financial sector will be considered an advantage.

Software/IT Skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, (Power BI or other BI tools are a bonus).

Ability to establish and maintain strong internal relationships.

Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in ambiguous situations.

Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.

Ability to travel depending on client/project location.

Good organization skills to manage projects and multiple work goals.
