A leading IT software company based in the southern area of Malta is looking for an experienced System Engineer to join their Enterprise Solutions team in Malta. The Enterprise Solutions team provides managed services to our customers - on-premise, in the data center and on cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with knowledge of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and AWS. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Onboarding, administering and performing operational tasks on customers’ cloud and on-premise environments

Helping design and then implement new technical projects for our customers
-
Work day to day on operational issues, requests and project tasks involving various technologies e.g. Azure, Windows servers, Linux servers, patching tools, server virtual machine etc.

Installing, configuring, administrating and managing Azure compute instances, Azure Backup, Azure Storage Monitor, snapshot, Azure Storage

Configuring, administrating various Microsoft 365 technologies including Defender and Intune

Proactively scheduling preventive maintenance and service enhancements to customers’ managed environments across systems, networking, security, and cloud

Taking ownership of issues, with client focus to prioritize and resolve problems

Working with the commercial team to identify customer requirements and help build the right solution

Documenting environments and problem solutions
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
An experienced engineer with knowledge of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and AWS
- Experience with Juniper and Docker - MUST HAVE!

Have extensive hands-on system administration skills in multiple tech areas such as: Windows and/or Linux server-side infrastructure, virtual machines, and associated technologies on physical servers, VMWare and database administration

Don't mind configuring and troubleshoot Terminal servers (RDS), Windows Clustering, NLB, DFS, Internal PKI, and Hyper-V. PowerShell cmdlet and scripting

Are able to effectively coordinate and multi-task across various groups and functional teams inside and outside of the organization
Advantageous
-
Experience on AWS and/or GCP will be considered an asset

Knowledge of scripting and automation concepts
-
Knowledge of international standards and/or regulations such as ISO 27001, DORA, PCI-DSS etc.

Knowledge of security best practices

Microsoft qualifications such as AZ-500, MS-500 and AZ-104

As part of the enterprise solutions team, you will be part of a team in an on call rotation

This is a hybrid position and driving license is required

You will be expected to maintain active certifications as discussed with your manager.
