A global Accountancy firm is looking for an experienced Tax Advisor to join their team in Malta. The main purpose of this role is to provide specialisation in tax to work within an established team of advisors providing advice to a portfolio of local and international clients. The ideal candidate will hold qualification in Law or Accounting and possess a good working knowledge of Malta’s tax law, EU directives and developments in international taxation. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide assistance to both a local and internationally operating client base in the area of direct taxation

Advise clients on how they can maximise tax efficiency in relation to their business structures and activities as well as the tax implications of corporate transactions and restructuring activities

Prepare technical written tax opinions as required by the clients

Communicate clearly with clients and being able to understand their requirements

Keep abreast with tax developments locally and internationally

Prepare news items and articles for our website

Assist with business development initiatives.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Hold a qualification in Law or Accounting
-
Possess a good working knowledge of Malta’s tax law, EU directives and developments in international taxation as well as their practical implications

Have knowledge of local tax matters including income tax, duty on documents and transfers, capital gains and personal tax.

Have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar environment with considerable exposure to tax advisory work

Can work both independently, as well as part of a team, to produce high-quality work

Can work in an organised manner whilst dealing with multiple deadlines
-
Possess a strong work ethic

Possess excellent communication and written skills in both English and Maltese
