GRS Recruitment is working with a leading organisation to recruit an AI Developer – Team Lead to guide the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of practical AI solutions that enhance products, processes, and user experience. This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity. You will work closely with IT, data, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable AI solutions with measurable business value.

Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-driven solutions.

Guide the team in working with datasets, data pipelines, validation processes, and data quality to support reliable AI and machine learning applications.

Own model experimentation, prompt engineering, evaluation, testing, deployment, and production optimisation across AI use cases.

Collaborate with IT, data, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architecture and technology decisions.

Ensure AI solutions are maintainable, secure, scalable, well documented, and aligned with development best practices.

Mentor and support junior and developing team members, helping to build technical capability within the team.

Coordinate priorities, manage technical delivery, and communicate progress and technical approaches clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Define appropriate evaluation strategies and testing approaches for AI models, prompts, and outputs.

Continuously assess AI system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Contribute to responsible AI practices, governance, security, privacy, risk management, and operational readiness.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Proven professional experience delivering AI, machine learning, automation, data applications.

Previous experience leading projects, technical initiatives, or a small development/AI team.

Strong hands-on Python development skills and experience with common AI, machine learning, and data libraries.

Practical experience with Microsoft’s AI and cloud ecosystem, ideally including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Fabric, GitHub Copilot, and Azure DevOps.

Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, data structures, APIs, software architecture, and modern software development practices.

Experience working with notebooks, code repositories, APIs, cloud AI services, prompt testing/evaluation environments, and CI/CD workflows.

Practical knowledge of generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, automation, and applied machine learning.

The ability to establish structured approaches for evaluating model and prompt performance and iterating based on results.

A solid understanding of responsible AI, data privacy, security, AI governance, risk management, and production considerations.

Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work effectively across technical and business teams.
