An international group of companies operating within the events, conferences, and performance marketing industry is partnering with GRS Recruitment to hire a Business Development Manager to join their growing events team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Operations to drive commercial growth across international conferences, with a focus on lead generation, exhibitor acquisition, sponsorship sales, and attendee growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, dynamic organisation at the forefront of the global events industry, with strong exposure to international conferences, business development strategy, and revenue generation. The position can be based in Cyprus (Limassol, Nicosia, or Paphos) depending on candidate preference.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive lead generation, attendee acquisition, and exhibitor/sponsorship sales for international conferences
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, sponsors, and partners
  • Identify client needs and deliver tailored commercial solutions to maximise revenue growth
  • Arrange and attend external meetings to support sales and business development activity
  • Negotiate sponsorship packages and partnership agreements with B2B clients
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities
  • Contribute to strategic planning for conference growth and revenue optimization
  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, design, and operations to ensure event success
  • Support content and concept development for upcoming conferences and events
  • Attend international conferences and industry events as required for business development purposes
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and sponsorship opportunities
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Sponsorship Sales, or Events
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven ability to close deals
  • Experience in B2B sales, events, conferences, or sponsorship sales will be considered a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Fluent in English (additional languages such as Russian or others will be considered an advantage)
  • Willingness to travel internationally for conferences and events
SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • €28,000 - €40,000 Gross Per Annum
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative; any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
