Join our esteemed client in Malta as a Corporate & Trust Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable Corporate Services company that values integrity and professionalism. The successful candidate will lead a team of front-line Corporate & Trust Administrators (“Administrators”) in delivering a range of corporate administration services to group's clients. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director, who is based in Malta, and will be expected to autonomously manage and lead a team of administrators (currently 4).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead on Key Client Relationships - The Corporate & Trust Manager will act as a lead on certain key client relationships, being the primary contact and relationship manager.

Manage and supervise new incorporations as required by clients. This may involve hands-on work or delegation to Corporate Administrators.

Each Administrator in the team has a portfolio of client companies (including private trust companies and trusts) and partnerships assigned to them. The Corporate & Trust Manager will be responsible to over-see the administration processes and client relationships, ensuring that all portfolios are being administered in accordance with policies and procedures. Corporate documents and resolutions drafted by the Administrators should be four-eyed by the Corporate & Trust Manager. Supporting the administration team with drafting of complex minutes/ resolutions etc or to attend client meetings as Recording Secretary whenever necessary to cover for staff absences etc.

Each Administrator works to exacting targets to ensure regulatory compliance. The Corporate & Trust Manager must manage the Team’s Performance with reference to statistical data and individual staff mentoring and coaching.

Authorised Representative - The Corporate & Trust Manager will be one of several authorised persons to represent the group in their capacities such as Company Secretary, Resident Representative and other positions held by group and its sister companies from time to time. This includes execution of Secretary Certificates.

Working closely with Compliance Officer - The successful candidate will work closely with the Compliance Manager and will attend regular compliance meetings and form part of the management team that ensures compliance with applicable legislations and regulations. The Corporate & Trust manager would also be involved with any regulatory on-site inspections.

Participating as a member of the group (together with other managers, directors and compliance staff), attendance will be required at risk management meetings.

Keeping abreast of all relevant laws and regulations and their development and working with other managers to train staff and develop policies and procedures as required.

Management of staff members of the team, which includes but is not limited to annual appraisals and regular staff meetings.

All staff, including the Corporate & Trust Manager, record their time through software. The Corporate & Trust Manager is responsible to monitor staff statistics to ensure that time records are efficient and effective.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
At least 2 years managerial experience in a related discipline, with an appropriate degree / evidence of related further education.

Current knowledge of Malta, Bermuda’s (or similar common law jurisdiction) corporate, governance and compliance related legislations and regulations.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English.

Good computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to work autonomously and organize the workflow of a multi-disciplined team.

Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines, develop targets and deliver to these.

Able to lead by example and prioritise service needs to meet clients’ aspirations.

Strong commercial acumen and business awareness.
Relevant experience which may be considered preferably but not essential, would include the following:

Supervisory role within a corporate service company, law firm or similar.

Experience of staff training and development.
-
A related Professional Qualification; e.g. Chartered Secretary or STEP Practitioner.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€60,000 - €70,000 Gross Per Annum
