A well-established and expanding company specializing in ro-ro shipping, with operations spanning both local and international domains, has requested GRS Recruitment Malta to seek out a Crewing Operator. This role entails ensuring the appropriate staffing of multiple vessels. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organizing crew changes and making the necessary travel arrangements
  • Applying for the seafarers' documents with the flag authorities
  • Issuing employment contracts for the seafarers
  • Handling the payroll of the seafarers
  • Taking part in an on-call rota system for any after-hours emergencies (approximately 10 weeks/year)
  • Being the first point of contact for the captain of your ships for employment-related queries
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Operational and communication skills
  • Organized and meticulous
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and the ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • While prior crewing experience will be viewed as advantageous, training will be offered
