GRS Recruitment are working closely with a growing education institution in Limassol that is searching for an HR Officer. You will support the school’s leadership team by managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with Cyprus employment regulations, and maintaining a positive and professional working environment for all staff. This role is central to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and maintaining accurate HR records. The ideal candidate will be organised, discreet, and confident in handling a variety of administrative and people-focused tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Onboarding

Coordinate the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and reference checks

Prepare employment contracts and required documentation in line with Cyprus labour legislation

Manage staff onboarding, organise induction schedules, and ensure compliance with school policies
HR Administration
-
Maintain HR records, staff files, attendance and leave tracking

Support payroll preparation by collecting and verifying required information

Prepare HR letters, reports, and internal documentation

Ensure all employee certifications, safeguarding checks, and training records are up to date
Employee Relations

Serve as a first point of contact for staff HR queries

Assist in resolving workplace issues in a professional and confidential manner

Support performance management processes, including evaluations and probation reviews
Compliance & Policies

Ensure the school complies with Cyprus employment laws, health & safety standards, and safeguarding requirements

Assist in policy updates, communication, and implementation

Maintain confidentiality and uphold data protection requirements (GDPR)
Training & Development

Coordinate staff training sessions, professional development, and mandatory certifications

Track participation and maintain training records
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Previous experience in an HR role (school environment preferred but not required)

Strong understanding of Cyprus labour law and HR best practices

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with HR software is an advantage

Strong communication skills in English; Greek is highly beneficial

Ability to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information

Professional, approachable, and proactive attitude

Experience in recruitment or working in a multicultural environment

Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and school compliance standards
