Our client is a well standing global leader within the logistics industry and they’re working in partnership with GRS to hire an IT Field Services Engineer for their team based in Larnaca. The successful candidate will act primarily as on-site 1st Level Support for Infrastructure, Hardware and Workplace Services. They take over incidents which cannot be solved immediately and remotely and if necessary, they will request external support, e.g. from software or hardware manufacturers (3rd Level Support). The engineer will also work closely with the central end user services and network teams in assisting with resolving issues around patching and security issues. This role will assist in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of corporate desktops, phones, audio video equipment and desktop applications. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides end users assistance support, IT equipment Break and Fix;
  • Manage deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all current IT systems including: Operating systems, Telecommunication, Software applications and hardware peripherals
  • Provide Network and applications access;
  • Provide individual training and support on request;
  • Support and provide helpdesk / assistance to internal/external users and partners;
  • Maintenance and preventive maintenance of IT equipment, hardware and network;
  • Make inventories of all IT equipment and other peripheral;
  • Ensure frequent and periodic inventories update;
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of IT problems;
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls and / or mails regarding hardware, peripherals and network problems;
  • Participate ongoing and upcoming projects;
  • Orientation new users of existing technology and train staff about potential uses
  • Research current and potential resources and services
  • Keeping management and stations updated on progress
  • Monitor private connections, devices and peripherals
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
  • Monitor security of all technology and advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Communicate regularly with Management and all users of information services and systems
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements
  • Speaking to management team/station to find out what they want and to advise them objectively on where IT might make a difference to the business
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • +3-4 years of experience supporting IT technical issues
  • Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships
  • Clear, professional communication skills, experience in communicating with users, and able to contribute to team discussions
  • Ability to physically move and install equipment including but not limited to desktop PCs, monitors, laptops, desks, etc.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work and succeed in a dynamic and multi-cultural matrix organization
  • Excellent command of oral and written Greek and English. Fluency in any other language would be an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware and software
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends
  • Ability to work well with people and with strong communications skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to quickly establish good working relationships with clients
  • Willingness to sometimes work unsociable hours
  • Enthusiasm for continual learning
