On behalf of our client, a well-established insurance company in Malta, we are looking for an IT Officer to support the smooth day-to-day running of the internal technology systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing technical tasks with operational oversight. They should be capable of handling escalated issues, communicating clearly with internal users, and coordinating effectively with third-party vendors. This role focuses on resolving escalated technical issues, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring systems remain reliable within a regulated insurance environment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organised, and comfortable working across multiple internal teams and external service providers.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
- Provide technical support for Windows environments, Office 365, business applications, and endpoint devices.
- Troubleshoot escalated issues and ensure clear, complete documentation.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for maintenance, escalations, and project tasks.
- Assist with ICT system deployments, upgrades, and configurations.
- Support compliance, documentation, and internal ICT governance requirements.
- Track and prioritise operational tasks and communicate progress to the ICT lead.
- Provide professional communication and support to internal users.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Previous experience in IT support or ICT operations.
- Solid understanding of Windows systems, Office 365 administration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently in a compliance-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document work clearly.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English
- Exposure to Active Directory, Azure AD, or security tools.
- Experience coordinating with external IT vendors or service providers.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices.
- Any relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, MD-102, MS-700).
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Mix of hands-on technical work, operational coordination, and process improvement.
- Some ICT maintenance and updates must be performed outside normal working hours to avoid operational disruption. Time in lieu is provided for these planned out-of-hours activities.
- In addition, the role may require occasional response to unexpected issues outside normal hours. A disturbance allowance is provided for such unplanned interventions.
