GRS Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading international organisation in the Oil & Gas and energy storage sector to recruit Terminal Operators to join its team in Vasiliko, Cyprus.
This is an excellent opportunity for technically minded professionals to join a well-established international organisation operating one of the largest energy storage and distribution terminals in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Terminal Operator will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of terminal equipment and systems, supporting the storage and transfer of petroleum products. The role involves hands-on operational responsibilities across the terminal and requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and operational excellence.
The successful candidates will work on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern, supporting the terminal's 24/7 operations.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate and monitor terminal equipment, systems and processes safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out product transfers and movements using pumps, valves, hoses, meters and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and manage storage tanks and product levels, ensuring products are stored and handled in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Carry out routine inspections of equipment, facilities and operational areas and report any issues or abnormalities.
  • Perform product sampling and basic quality control checks where required.
  • Follow all company health, safety, security and environmental procedures and ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, documentation and reports relating to product movements, inventory, inspections, incidents and other terminal activities.
  • Respond effectively to operational incidents and emergencies, including spills, leaks, fires and equipment failures, in accordance with established emergency procedures.
  • Carry out basic maintenance activities and assist with identifying and reporting equipment or maintenance requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient terminal operations.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, reliability and operational efficiency.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration or another relevant discipline.
  • Technical School qualification or Technical Diploma.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering will be considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a technical, industrial, operational or similar environment will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience within the Oil & Gas, energy, shipping, logistics, manufacturing or another industrial environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong technical and practical aptitude.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and find practical solutions.
  • Strong safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of reliability, responsibility and professionalism.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • €18,200 - €26,000 Gross Per Annum
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
